Privacy policy
Updated October 10, 2026
Kachikwu & Nama Law Firm ("KNLF", "we") respects your privacy. This policy explains what kn-laws.com collects, why, and for how long. The site sets no cookies of its own, uses no advertising or tracking tools, and we never sell personal information.
1. Information you choose to send us
Consultation and contact forms
When you request a consultation, we receive your name, email address, phone number (optional), the type of matter and your message, with the page and language you wrote from. The form emails this to the firm, together with your IP address and the time, so we can reply and protect the form against abuse. Normally the website keeps no copy. There are two exceptions, both stored on the server in folders closed to the public and deleted automatically after 90 days:
- If the email to the firm fails to send, the full enquiry is kept so that it is not lost.
- If a submission is blocked or flagged as possible spam, a log keeps the date, IP address, reason, your name, email address and the start of the message.
To limit repeated submissions, the site also keeps short-lived counters based on a coded (hashed) version of your IP address, never the address itself. They are deleted after 3 days. Please do not send confidential details through the form: contacting the firm does not create an attorney-client relationship.
Comments on articles
If you comment on an article, we receive your name, email address and comment, and your IP address. Comments wait for an attorney to approve or delete them. Only your name and comment are published, never your email address. Your IP address is kept for up to 30 days for moderation and to prevent abuse, then deleted. Comments are kept until the firm deletes them.
Energy Intelligence Brief subscription
If you subscribe, we store your email address, the name you give (if any), your language and the page you signed up from. You must confirm through a link we email you; sign-ups that are never confirmed are deleted after 30 days. Every brief includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes your details. We use this list only to send the brief.
WhatsApp, phone and email
If you contact us by WhatsApp, phone or email, we receive whatever you send through that service. WhatsApp messages are also subject to WhatsApp's own privacy policy.
2. Information collected automatically
Visit counts. The site counts visits and button clicks (for example call, email, WhatsApp and consultation buttons) as anonymous totals: the page, its language, the referring website, time zone and device type (phone, tablet or desktop). No cookies are used and no IP address or other identifier is stored. Automated visits from bots are ignored.
Browser storage. A few small items are saved in your own browser, never sent to us and not used for tracking: in local storage, your language choice (knlf-lang), whether you closed the language tip (knlf-langtip) and whether you closed the newsletter invitation (knlf-eib); in session storage, which ends when you close the tab, a flag so a visit is counted only once (knlf-v) and, if you use it, your choice to pause animations (knlf-still). You can clear them at any time in your browser settings.
Server logs. Like any web host, our hosting provider (Gandi) may record standard technical logs such as IP addresses and requested pages, for security and operation.
Google Maps. Some pages show an embedded Google map of our office. The map loads from Google, so Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies under the Google Privacy Policy.
3. How we use information
We use the information above only to respond to you, check for conflicts of interest before a consultation, provide legal services you engage us for, send the brief you subscribed to, moderate comments, keep the site secure and improve it. We do not sell, rent or share personal information for marketing.
4. How long we keep it
- Enquiries received by email: as long as needed to respond and to meet our professional obligations, including conflict checks and record-keeping.
- Failed-delivery copies of enquiries and the blocked-submission log: 90 days.
- Rate-limit counters: 3 days.
- Comment IP addresses: 30 days. Comments: until deleted by the firm.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe; unconfirmed sign-ups, 30 days.
- Visit counts: kept as anonymous totals.
5. Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or unsubscribe at any time, by writing to georges.nama@kn-laws.com. We may need to keep some information where the law or our professional duties require it.
6. Security and international visitors
The site is served only over HTTPS, and stored data is kept in folders closed to public access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Our website is hosted by Gandi and our firm is based in Texas, United States; if you contact us from another country, your information will be processed in the United States and by our hosting provider.
7. Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
8. Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we will update the date above. Questions: Kachikwu & Nama Law Firm, 2001 Timberloch Place, Suite 500, The Woodlands, Texas 77380, USA · georges.nama@kn-laws.com · +1 (832) 840-7266.
